Crowne Plaza temporarily evaucated due to smoke alarms

DOWNTOWN PENSACOLA   --  The Crowne Plaza Hotel in Downtown Pensacola was evacuated today because of a firm alarm.

Hotel management says smoke caused the alarm to go off around 11:30 this morning.

It came from the motor in the service elevator.
All 15 floors of rooms had to be evacuated.

Within 30 minutes, firefighters had the smoked cleared up.. allowing guests to go back to their rooms.
The service elevator will be closed until the motor is replaced.
