Victims of church burglary praying for thieves
Rob Brown "At some point late Sunday evening or early Monday morning, an unknown number of people broke into the Pilgrim's Rest Baptist Church here in Baker. They made their way through a door in the back of the church, Broke in through this door, into the Children's Minister's office, and cracked open this safe. You can see where they drilled it open on top. They then made their way through the rest of the church, stealing hundreds of dollars in other items."
Geoff Prows "I took a look around, saw some other doors that were open that shouldn't have been, and I knew we had been broken into."
The thief, or thieves, first broke the locks on sheds behind the chuch, then made their way inside. They went to the safe, and stole an undisclosed amount of money. Then they went through the other rooms, including the music and electronic rooms in the main building. They made off with guitars and other instruments as well as important documents. Church leaders are still trying to determine how much was taken.
Darren Williams "We're a praying church. And someone who would do something like this, not just to a church, but to anyone, you know, they need help. And we're going to be praying for them."
Rob Brown "Okaloosa County Sheriff's Deputies did investigate the scene Monday morning, and collected evidence. A full investigation is underway. In Baker, Rob Brown, Channel Three News."
