Escambia County woman deemed unfit to stand trial

ESCAMBIA COUNTY   --  An Escambia County woman accused of killing another woman has been ruled *unfit* to stand trial because of IQ.
Investigators say Kiesha Pugh, Anthony Pressley and Gregory Williams beat Melinda McCormick with a crowbar and set fire to the bed she was on in March 2012.
This morning a judge ruled that Pugh is mentally incompetent because tests show her IQ is in the 50's, which is well below the cut-off for being "intellectually disabled".
Pressley was also deemed mentally incompetent for trial late last year.
They will be admitted into a state hospital and be periodically evaluated until they are deemed competent for a jury trial.
Williams is expected in court next month.
