Government mistakenly uses wrong Statue of Liberty for stamp

The government is being sued over a Statue of Liberty stamp.

The U.S. postal service released the stamp in 2011 not realizing it was based on a Las Vegas statue and not the original in New York. The sculptor who made the Vegas statue is suing for copyright infringement.

His attorneys say the Vegas version is more fresh-faced and sultry than the original. They say that's why the postal service used the Las Vegas version of the statue.
