Pensaola Woman's Life Sentence Commuted
A Pensacola woman will no longer be spending the rest of her life in prison. Her sentence was commuted by President Obama Thursday. Stephanie George was sentenced to life in prison without parole in 1997, under mandatory minimum sentencing guidelines. George was charged for cocaine that was found in her house, even after her ex-boyfriend admitted the drugs were his. The judge in the case said George did not deserve a life sentence. George is scheduled to be released in April. She will then serve 10 years on supervised release.
