Okaloosa deputy on leave after helping stop suicide, shots fired

OKALOOSA COUNTY   --  An Okaloosa deputy is on leave after trying to stop a man from committing suicide.
It happened on Holmes Boulevard

In Fort Walton Beach around 5:30 last night, deputies say the man was armed, when the officer approached.
   
Shots were fired, and the man was hit in the shoulder.
He was taken to Fort Walton Beach Medical Center he is expected to be OK.
   
The deputy is on leave while the incident is being investigated.
