Florida Public Defender office backing "Warning Shot" bill

New this morning the Florida Public Defender Association is now backing the "Threatened use of Force Act" better known as the "Warning Shot" bill.

It would grant immunity to people who show or fire guns in self-defense.
Representative Neil Combee sponsored the bill after hearing about Marissa Alexander - the Jacksonville woman who was sentenced to 20 years for firing a warning shot at her husband during a fight.
An earlier version of the bill died in the 2013 session.
Supporters hope having the Public Defender Association on board this time will help the bill pass in 2014.
