Okaloosa man starts high speed chase

An Okaloosa County man is facing charges for taking deputies on a high speed chase.

A deputy says a pack of five motorcyclists were speeding across the Marler Bridge in Destin around 9:30 last night. When he tried to stop them, they scattered in different directions.

The deputy followed one of the bikes that had no tail lights. He says the biker, rick cook, sped up to 80 miles an hour to try and get away. But after a few miles cook stopped and was arrested.

He is charged with fleeting and eluding.
