Weather Alert

On the map below, the circle over the Gulf of Mexico is for an area of low pressure likely heading toward the Texas/Mexico border.  Development is not expected.  Also, we're tracking Cristobal and a tropical wave over the eastern Caribbean Sea that may become another depression though chances are low.

Injured bobcat recovering at a wildlife sanctuary

The Wildlife Sanctuary of Northwest Florida is taking care of an injured bobcat.

She's called "Princess Reada" after the AC Read Golf Course aboard NAS Pensacola.
Workers there found her in a shed and brought her to the sanctuary.
She's under a year old and nursing a badly broken leg.
Director, Dorothy Kaufmann, says she couldn't have healed on her own, but she's not very appreciative.

Dorothy Kaufmann, Wildlife Sanctuary of NW Florida:  "She is feisty and she is certainly not habituated to our activities. She's very, very angry and ready to go."

Kaufmann says bobcats are native to the area.
You just don't see them around very often.
