    From the Florida Department of Health Escambia County: Effective immediately, in response to air quality monitoring, the FDOH-Escambia is issuing a health alert for the area surrounding the Wedgewood Community Center and the Rolling Hill Construction and Demolition Landfill in Escambia County, Florida. Tropical Depression 2 is in the western Atlantic Ocean and moving west. The system is headed to the Caribbean Sea. TD 2 is not forecast to become much stronger and could become non-tropical by Thursday.

Oil spill recovery bringing in millions of dollars

It's the next step in bringing millions of dollars to our area for oil spill recovery.
The Deepwater Horizon Natural Resource Trustees released a plan that dedicates 627-million dollars to restoration projects.

The money is divided among the five Gulf Coast States.
Louisiana is getting the most, 340 million dollars.
Florida gets 105 million.
Alabama gets 93.7 million.
Mississippi, nearly 69 million.
And Texas 18 million.

In our area, 22.5 million dollars is earmarked for Escambia County.
4.7 for Santa Rosa. And 14.8 million for Okaloosa County.
Another 22 million dollars is designated for regional projects.
