Price of postage increases again

The price of postage is going up again.

The postal service is raising the price of a first class stamp by three cents. Starting January 26th they will cost 49 cents.

It's a temporary rate hike, up to two years, aimed at helping the post office recover from decreased mail volume brought on by the economic downturn that began in 2008.

Forever stamps, good for first class postage regardless of the future rate, can be purchased at 46 cents until January 25th.
