COMPLETE STORY: T-45 plane crash
PENSACOLA -- A plane crash aboard NAS Pensacola.
The training plane crashed, while trying to land on a runway at Sherman Field late this morning.
The two people on board were rushed to the hospital.
The two seat training aircraft was assigned to Training Squadron 86.
They were conducting a routine flight when they crashed.
Both people in the T-45 Goshawk were taken to Baptist Hospital.
One was taken by Lifeflight. The other by ambulance.
Their conditions have not been released..
Or why the plane crashed.
This isn't the first crash involving the T-45 Goshawk.
It's been used since 1991 as a training aircraft.
But it wasn't used at NAS Pensacola, until 2008 when it replaced the T-2 Buckeye aircraft.
In December of 2010 two officers from NAS Pensacola ejected from a T-45 training jet over a swampy area of Jefferson County Florida.
Neither people on board were seriously injured in that crash.
The names of the two people in today's crash have not been released.
The cause of the incident is still under investigation.
