Southwest starts daily flights from PNS

Southwest Airlines has finally touched down in Pensacola and today a celebration will be held at the airport.

Channel 3's Kalie Desimone joins us live this morning the Pensacola International Airport with more.

The first flight from "Southwest Airlines" touched down on the runway Sunday morning. Passengers say this is exciting news because they believe Southwest Airlines offers good deals. Southwest is offering daily, non-stop flights from Pensacola International Airport to Houston and Nashville. The landing of Southwest at PNS is the final step in the 2011 Southwest-Air Tran merger and buyout. The airline say they will use Boeing 737 air crafts to service Pensacola and the planes will seat 143 passengers.

"I'm a Southwest rapid rewards member and I'll be flying again in a couple more weeks. I couldn't wait," said passenger Darlyne Franklin.

The airline will offer two daily nonstop flights to Nashville International Airport and one daily nonstop flight to William P. Hobby Airport in Houston.
