Faulty Heater cause of Midway business fire

MIDWAY   --  A faulty heater is being blamed for a fire that destroyed part of a plant nursery in Santa Rosa County.
The fire broke out just after four o'clock this morning at the nursery on Pine Street near Wind Meadow Drive in Gulf Breeze.

Three greenhouses, an office and garage  were destroyed.
The owner of "The Indoor Plant People" thinks it all stemmed from this heater.

He had turned on last night for the first time all season to protect the plants from the cold weather.

But they think it ended up catching fire and burning this whole place down.
Oh God. Whew Three offices completely gone
Brian O'Sullivan still can't believe it's all gone. He drove to his nursery at 5 this morning And literally saw his dream up in flames.

This is a whole bunch of my life. To see it all gone. It's devastating.
He now walks through the rubble of what used to be 4 greenhouses and 3 offices. He estimates the damage is around $50000 dollars. He's trying to see the blessing in what appears to be a nightmare.

I have to use it as an opportunity for growth. Build better greenhouses. Irrigation systems.
The nursery has been around for 27 years. No one will lose their job. And they will be able to keep doing business out of their extra warehouses. Delivery manager, Albert Romero is trying to save every plant he can.

I'm going to salvage the best I can. Throw away. Get together w rest of team and go from there
Unfortunately not many of the plants made it. But a new order has already been placed making sure the indoor plant people will be fully back up and running by the holiday season.

Poinsettias will be here. Christmas is coming. No fire will stop Poinsettias.

They want to stress that their customers will still get their orders.
A new greenhouse will be up within a week and hopefully they can repair this one.
