Effort to incorporate Navarre continues

NAVARRE   --  The effort to turn Navarre into a city is picking up steam.
A group of supporters held a fundraiser over the weekend.
The effort to turn Navarre into a city started in 2006 and since then it's been through a lot of ups and downs.
An updated report detailing exactly how much incorporating Navarre would cost is expected to be ready soon.
The ultimate goal is to put a bill before the state legislature in 2015.
If it passes, voters in the community could decide whether or not to make Navarre a city.
People we spoke with were divided on the issue.
"It would help our parks, our roads, our medians, our schools, our communities. I think it would be a great change for us."
"There's plenty of facilities here to incorporate both my kids and my family. I really don't see how it is lacking."

The group will host a public meeting at the Navarre Conference Center at six o'clock tonight.
A consultant will talk about the possible revenue that could be generated if Navarre becomes a city.
