Double homicide on Boulder Ave.

A double homicide in Escambia County is under investigation.

Two people were found dead Sunday afternoon in the 3000 block of Boulder Avenue.
The Sheriff's Office has not released their names, but family members have identified them as 34-year-old, Chris Fehl, and 36-year-old, John Gibbons.

Channel Three's Jenise Fernandez joins us live with more

We are right in front of the home where this happened, you can see the crime scene tape is still up.
The Sheriff's Office is not releasing a whole lot of details at this time.
Neighbors here are still shaken up by what happened.

Two men at the prime of their lives, gone too soon. That's what family and friends have been saying.
Chris Fehl and John Gibbons were best friends.
Those who knew them well say the two kept to themselves and never got into trouble.

"They're not teenagers anymore but their not grown, grown yet. I couldn't see them getting into any kind of trouble."

"It's heartbreaking. I mean these were young people in their 30s."

It's still hard for neighbors to grasp what happened.
Betsey Ferguson lives across the street from where Fehl  and Gibbons were found.
She knew them both and their families. She can't believe they're gone.

"What has happened here is senseless. we have two young people that were murdered. and we, our neighborhood is quiet."

Wayne Plotner has lived in this neighborhood most of his life.
He is shocked a double murder happened so close to home.
He says, it feels like there have a lot of murders in the county lately.
He plans to get neighbors together and start a neighborhood watch group to make sure this never happens again.

"I don't know what the answer is but we need to get a handle on it... help protect ourselves."

Fehl leaves behind a 13-year-old daughter.
At this point, investigators are trying to figure what happened.
No arrests have been made.
