Overnight stabbing in Milton

We have some overnight breaking news for you this morning out of Milton.

A man was stabbed in the chest around midnight in the 3000 block of Kingery Road near Avalon Blvd.

Loud shouting is what alerted neighbors on this street to come outside after midnight to see what was going on. Before one of those neighbors knew it she was holding a towel to a mans chest who had been stabbed several times.

Lots of yelling exchanged by two men, Woody Shaw lives on this street and says that's when he walked out into his driveway to see what was going on. Shaw says he saw one man lying in the middle of the street and another standing over him. Before Shaw could get any closer, to see what was happening- the man standing over the other- ran away, hopped into white vehicle then sped off. That's when Shaw heard the man lying in the street yelling for someone to call the police. Shaw dialed 911 immediately and watched as another neighbor rushed over to see if the man was ok. That neighbor says she held a cloth on the man's chest and waited for emergency responders to arrive. The man was taken to an area hospital to be treated for his injurys. His condition is not known at this time. Investigators spent much of the morning interview witnesses and marking eveidence.

"I just hate to see these people here, they are older people and when you got stuff like this going on right next door, that's enough to make them worry," Shaw said.

Investigators are still looking for the suspect.
