President Obama apologizes to American people

President Obama apologized to millions of Americans losing their healthcare plans because of new standards.

"I am sorry that they, you know, are finding themselves in this situation, based on assurances they got from me."

The president had repeatedly promised that Americans who liked their insurance could keep it.
But some 15-million people could lose the cheap - but limited plans they currently have.
That's because under Obamacare, insurance companies are now required to cover things like hospital costs and maternity and mental health care.
Even as the president apologized, he tried to spin this as a good thing.
"They'll be able to get better care at the same cost or cheaper in these new marketplaces."

The Obama administration insists it's working 24 hours a day to fix healthcare.gov
They say it will be fully functioning for most Americans by the end of this month.
