Deadly diet supplement removed from shelves
A diet supplement is being pulled from stores across the country after being associated with dozens of cases of liver damage and hepatitis.
Health officials in Hawaii say at least 24 patients report using Oxy-Elite Pro before being hospitalized. A 48-year-old mother of seven died last week after taking the diet pills. The FDA issued a warning earlier this year against taking supplements that contain DMAA.
The makers of Oxy-Elite Pro say the original version of the product that contained MDAA has not been made since early this year.
