Crestview police buy gun range

A gun range in Crestview will soon be owned by the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office.

Okaloosa County commissioners  approved the plan on Tuesday. The sheriff's office has been leasing the property.

Where's the money coming from?  $89,000 in seized drug money will be used to buy the range.

Deputies have been using the range to train for the last ten years. It's not open to the public, but other law enforcement agencies can use it at no charge.
