Nevada school will remain closed until next week

NEVADA  --  Classes won't resume until next week at Sparks Middle School outside of Reno, Nevada after yesterday's shooting

Investigators are now trying to determine why a student brought a semi- automatic handgun to his middle school and began firing.

Two seven-graders who were shot are now in stable condition,
Math teacher Michael Landsbury,  a former Marine who confronted the shooter,  was shot in the chest and died.

Sparks Deputy Chief Tom Miller:  We are in a process of tracking the origin of that weapon we believed that the student got it from his residence..
   
District Chief of Police Mike Mieras:  His age is 12 years old//he's entered as a 7th grader
Police say after shooting the three people, the gunman took his own life..
   
It's been more than 10 months since Newtown Elementary school tragedy.
In that time there have been 13 shootings at American schools.
