SR Commission look at economic incentives to build new Navarre hotel

SANTA ROSA COUNTY   --  The Santa Rosa County Commission is considering economic incentives to help bring a new hotel to Navarre Beach.

Holi Corp wants to build the new hotel where the old Holiday Inn was.
It was destroyed by Hurricane Ivan.
But the company owes 355,000 dollars in water and sewer fees.
Holi Corp asked the county to waive those fees, but instead, the commission will consider using the county's "Electric Franchise" revenue to pay Navarre Beach Utility on Holi Corp's behalf.
The company has also asked for its lease to be extended as far out as possible, and for the terms regarding lease fees versus property taxes to be made more clear.
The commission will consider their request at Thursday's meeting.
