Escambia Co. shootings to go before grand jury
ESCAMBIA COUNTY -- Two shootings involving Escambia County deputies will now go before the grand jury.
James McGlothlin was shot and killed by deputies on July 5th. McGlothlin was suspected in a series of robberies.
Deputies say he ran after ditching a stolen car and they found him hiding with a gun, at a Pensacola apartment complex. And Roy Middleton was shot by deputies while getting a cigarette out of his mothers car in his driveway, July 27th.
Deputies shot at him at least 15 times when they say they thought he was going to lunge at them. He was hit twice and survived.
A grand jury is expected to hear the cases beginning next week.
