Florida execution delayed due to campaign fundraiser
Florida is delaying the execution date of a former escort service owner because of a campaign fundraiser.
The execution of convicted killer Marshall Lee Gore was set to take place tomorrow at Florida State Prison.
Gore was convicted in the 1988 slaying of two women.
But the date conflicted with the date of a fundraiser for Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi.
Governor Rick Scott says it is routine to accommodate requests from other officials.
"Her office contacted my office and asked for a postponement and that's what we did."
According to Bondi's office - the September 10th fundraiser was set before a date was picked for the execution of Gore.
The execution has been rescheduled for October 1st.
