NEW INFORMATION: Navarre road work
NAVARRE -- Department of Transportation crews are working to repair a sinkhole in Navarre.
A pipe under the road caused a section of sidewalk to break on Saturday.
The area near the intersection of Highway 87 and Laredo Street is where most of the traffic congestion has been.
It's caused some problems for nearby businesses.
Road crews are still working on Highway 87.
And while repairs are made, the gas & water lines have been shut down for most of the day which have affected businesses.

It took Leslie Martin, Co-owner of the 87 Pour House, a little longer to get up and running for Taco Tuesday, after the sinkhole and subsequent flooding across the street, cut off some of her utilities.

"I can cook, we have electricity so I can cook even though we're without gas but without the water by law I cannot open"
Without water, the laundromat next door also had to close for part of the day.
The section of Highway 87, was already slated for repairs after a pipe underneath the road caused a section of sidewalk to break away over the weekend.
The recent rain only made matters worse.
Turning this busy thoroughfare in Navarre into a traffic nightmare.
FDOT spent much of the day pumping excess water out of the sinkhole & inspecting the drainage system.
Owners at Navarre Lumber says the flooding and traffic have caused them a headache too.

"We knew the way around to come in from the back but our customers didn't really know how to get in plus the road was blocked so it was an inconvenience to people traveling to work I'm sure"

The southbound lane will be closed all day, traffic is being diverted onto Laredo Street.
The northbound lane will remain open.
