Gulf Power meeting tomorrow, rates could increase
PENSACOLA -- Gulf Power wants to increase rates to help pay for upgrades. They are asking the Florida Public Service Commission to approve a price increase to help fund the largest power grid construction program in the history of the company. Gulf Power said they need to replace aging equipment and infrastructure -- to keep up with customer demand. The upgrades are also needed to comply with new federal environmental regulations.
There will be a public meeting for customers to voice their opinions on Tuesday, September 3. It starts at 4 pm in the Hagler Auditorium at the Pensacola State College main campus.
