Channel Three's Jenise Fernandez has reaction from passengers as they arrived from DC.

We caught up with passengers as that US Airways flight landed here in Pensacola. The passengers we spoke with say they're happy to be home and describe the overall feeling at our nation's capitol as very tense.

Pam Johns was in Washington DC Visiting her daughter and son-in-law.
She's been there for nine days.
Before catching her flight Monday afternoon, she saw on the news what happened at the navy yard.

"It doesn't matter where you are now.... just don't know what people are gonna do."

It was just two days ago when Johns and her family visited buildings around the yard.

"That could have been us... we were glad we went earlier."

Johns says she's happy she was in the city with her family when it happened, but is happy to be back home.
"I'm glad we were with them... they're not right in that area."

Sam Floyd went to DC for a quick weekend trip.
He says it was a beautiful weekend, but the shootings put a damper on what was, up until that point, a pleasant vacation.

"Everybody's talking.... someone would so something like this."

Floyd says there was backed up traffic throughout the city and the airport was hectic.
There was also confusion, people not knowing if they'd be able to get home.
"Concerns of safety.... the whole city."
