What happens to personal items left along Wall South?

PENSACOLA   -  Right now there's no system in place for items left at the Veteran's Memorial Park's South Wall.

That's why the Veterans Memorial Park Foundation is taking the initiative to make sure sentimental items left don't get thrown out.
The foundation's president visits the memorial often and picks up items he thinks are important and stores them at his house.
So far he's collected two green teddy bears, pictures of soldiers, and Native American mementos.
A groundskeeper keeps the park clean, throwing out dead flowers and worn out items.
For other sentimental items, the foundation is hoping to build an educational center where they can put these items on display.

"When people leave them, we understand they're leaving a little piece of their hearts and we try to treat them with respect"
The foundation will be discussing this at their next meeting on October 1st.

They're hoping to add signs at the park with instructions on what people should do if they see items in bad shape, and what to expect if they leave something behind.
