More information on Kenteyonna Anderson death

ESCAMBIA COUNTY   --  Investigators with the Escambia County sheriff's office are still trying to piece together what led to 14 year old, Kenteyonna Anderson being shot and killed.

This latest shooting just adds to a list of other shootings in recent weeks.
Kenteyonna sadly is the 22nd person killed this year by gun fire. 
   
She was a freshmen here at PHS.
14 year old Kenteyonna Anderson was caught in the crossfire of gun shots Thursday night.
       
While the Pensacola High student's life was cut terribly short due to gun violence, she is just one of 21 others gunned down in Escambia County this year.

Sheriff Morgan
"This does not speak well for our community for all the shootings that are occurring, in some instances we have the victims who are aware of who shot them and they are not speaking with us, we have witnesses to those shootings who again are not speaking with us"

With few crime tips trickling in, the gun violence is keeping not only the Escambia County Sheriff's Office busy, but Trauma Teams at local hospitals too.
        
When the red phone rings, an army of surgeons, nurses and technicians spring into action.
They know they have just have 'minutes' to save a gun shot victim's life.

"Getting big IVs, getting blood products, and identify if the patient is stable for further work-up or if the patient need to go directly to the operating room"

So far this year, Sacred Heart has treated 33 gun shot patients.
Baptist reports 5 % of their trauma patients had been shot.
       
Escambia County Sheriff, David Morgan wants more people to speak out, to reduce the gun violence.

"Our community should be outraged that a 14 year old child was shot indiscriminately, my phone should be ringing off the hook right with tips on who is responsible for this"
