Postal Service requests increase in cost of stamps

The cost of mailing a letter could be going up again.
The Postal Service is asking for a 3-cent increase that would raise the price of a First-Class stamp to 49 cents.

The agency says it's needed to help cut its costs.
The Postal Service expects to lose 6 billion dollars this year.

If the request for the increase is approved, it would become effective January 26th.
