Restaurant owner kicks veteran out of restaurant, crowd witnesses apology
MASSACHUSETTS -- In Massachusetts a crowd of war veterans turned out to witness an apology. Diner owner Russell Ireland said he was sorry for kicking Air Force vet James Glaser and his service dog out of his restaurant last week. Glaser suffers from PTSD from two tours in Iraq.
"That is my ultimate goal now and it was... a couple days after I cooled down and you know, had some medication."
"I now realize how important the love of the animals are to post-traumatic stress -- to anybody who needs the assistance. I stand here in front of you embarrassed, ashamed, and I just ask for some forgiveness -- that's all."
About 300 people turned out for the event Saturday. Under the Americans with Disabilities Act, Glaser is allowed to have his service dog Jack with him at virtually all times.
