President plans to provide internet to all US schools
President Barack Obama wants to connect all American schools to the internet. His plan would add a five-dollar per year fee to cell phone bills for the next three years. The money would be used to provide high speed internet access to 99 percent of students across the country within five years. The estimated cost of the plan could be anywhere between $4 and $6 billion. The President is asking the FCC to impose the fee rather than asking congress to levy a new tax. Some republicans are promising to pressure the FCC to deny the President's request.
