Looking at phone screen could hurt eyesight, researchers say

Do you spend too much time looking at your phone?  Well a new study shows that may have consequences and could hurt your eyesight. According to British researchers, the constant connection is causing vision problems.  Researchers said most people hold their cell phones about eight inches away, as opposed to magazines, that are double that at 16 inches. They have coined the term "screen-sighted" - referring to a 35 percent increase in near-sightedness since the launch of smartphones in 1997. The biggest rise has been seen in children and young adults: Studies show many kids have a smartphone or device by age seven.
