Study on effects of legalized gambling in Florida
FLORIDA -- The Florida legislature wants to know more about the effects of legalized gambling in the state.
Lawmakers are paying a consulting firm, Spectrum Gaming Group, 388,000 dollars to study the industry.
Senate President Don Gaetz says the study will help house and senate committees fully understand gaming issues.
The first part of the study is complete.

The legislature will also hold four public hearings this fall to get input.
One of those will be held in Pensacola, most likely in November.
The date and location has not yet been set.
