Crash Report released from boating accident that killed Pensacola businessman

SANTA ROSA SOUND   --  High speeds and carelessness both played a roll in a boat wreck that killed a Pensacola businessman.

According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission Gary Lowry's speedboat was going about 85 mile per hour in Santa Rosa Sound.
   
It struck the wake of a charter boat, went airborne, slammed back down onto the water and broke into three pieces.
   
Lowry and his four passengers were thrown into the water.
Lowry drowned after sustaining blunt force impact to his head and torso.
   
His passengers all survived.
No one was wearing life jackets.
