Gas prices down for Labor Day weekend

A sign of the economy recovering? Could be, triple a forecasts more of us will be hitting the road for the long Labor Day holiday weekend.

Good news for holiday travelers AAA says you can expect lower gas prices compared to Labor Day weekend 2012.

The current price for a gallon of regular unleaded self serve in florida is $3.50. That's about the same price as the week before so drivers shouldn't see a sharp rise in the price of gas. In comparison- a year ago the price for that same gallon of gas was $3.73. Last year during this time, tropical storm isaac drove gas prices close to $4 a gallon after gulf refineries were forced to shut down.

The average price of regular unleaded gasoline in Pensacola is $3.35.
