Buildings near the sinkhole that swallowed resort being tested
FLORIDA -- Buildings near the sinkhole that swallowed a Central Florida villa are now being tested.
Sunday night guests staying at the Summer Bay Resort say the walls began to shake and windows started to break.
They had just minutes to get out of the resort before one of the buildings sank into a 60-foot wide, 15-foot-deep sinkhole.
Amazingly, no one was hurt.
A security officer who helped get vacationers out of a Florida resort that was falling into a sinkhole is talking about what he saw.
You could actually see the building coming apart at that time, and you just react and start getting people out. You don't think, you just do it.
The villa, with 24 three-story units, was reported as a total loss.
