Dozier property offer on hold due to court injunction
MARIANNA -- The state has buyers for the former Dozier School For Boys property.
But they can't sell it because of a court injunction.
The state put the 220 acres up for sale last year.
But that was put on hold after researchers found unmarked graves on the property.
Yesterday the governor approved the researchers request to exhume the bodies buried there.
That means the state will have to wait longer to sell the place.
Bill and Valerie Alexson were one of two bidders.
They have a dream of turning it into a place for older Foster children.
"And this place is perfect, it has a gym, it has school, it has dormitories. It's just perfect."
Researchers say they expected the exhumation project to take up to a year to complete.
