Retention pond coming to a Gulf Breeze neighborhood

GULF BREEZE -- A new drainage pond is coming to a Gulf Breeze neighborhood.... but not in time to help with all that rain this week.  People living on Ramblewood Drive have been begging for help from Santa Rosa County for years.  Rain water flows from Highway 98, down a hill then right onto Ramblewood. Flooding in June of last year damaged Shirley Barber's home and it wasn't the first time.
Craig Baird is selling his home to Santa Rosa County. He said,"Neighbor across the street, Shirley, I mean she's flooded five times.  And Becky next door to her, I know of at least three times. So yeah, it absolutely becomes an issue."
The county recently reached an agreement with two homeowners on Ramblewood to buy their properties. The county will build a new retention pond on those lots to improve the situation.
