Prosecutors present closing arguments in Zimmerman trial
SANFORD -- The testimony is over and today the prosecutor presented his closing argument in the George Zimmerman trial.
He picked apart what Zimmerman told police and the media in the days after he shot and killed Trayvon Martin.
Prosecutor Bernie De La Rionda told jurors that Zimmerman can't be believed and that he started the fight that ended with Martin's death.
Tomorrow morning, the lead attorney for the defense will give his closing argument, and the prosecution will have up to one hour for a rebuttal. Then the jury will begin deliberations.
Zimmerman is charged with second degree murder… and this morning, prosecutors asked the judge to let the jury also consider the lesser charges of manslaughter and third-degree murder.
Defense attorneys argued against that, but in the end. . . The judge agreed to add manslaughter as an option.
We will be here for the verdict, whenever it comes.
