Warrington teen shooting, no suspects arrested, no motive released

ESCAMBIA COUNTY   --  A teenager is dead, and another person is in the hospital after a  shooting in Escambia County    The killers are still on the loose.
The shooting was around six last night at "The Pines at Warrington" apartments on Navy Boulevard.
The shooting happened not too far away from the playground.
Family members say a group of friends were just hanging out when the shots were fired.

"Somebody knocked on my door."
Now all Vanessa Washington has is memories.   Her 17 year old son, Ledarrious Washington, was shot and killed.

"It's indescribable, I'm numb, I think I'm dreaming."
The family had moved here recently from Alabama hoping for a safer place to raise kids.

"So sweet Lord, it hurt me so bad, going to school, he'd be at school now."
"Ledarrious was a happy person, wasn't no gang banger, drug dealer, was at his own residence, standing around with friends."

The family says he was shot three times. Witnesses say the other teen was shot in the leg and remains in the hospital...

People who live at the apartment complex heard the shots and rushed over to help.
"I ran over to see if he was still alive and if there was anything I could do, he had a slight pulse."

Unfortunately there was only so much they could do. Washington later died at the hospital leaving the family with lots of questions.

"They don't know what happened, they are very upset, devastated, can't believe, I can't believe it."

Deputies do believe it was a drug deal that had gone wrong but they are still investigating what exactly happened.
No suspects have been arrested, and deputies haven't released a motive.
