Santa Rosa County Courthouse

SANTA ROSA COUNTY   --  Santa Rosa County Commission Chairman Bob Cole says he finally has unanimous support from his fellow commissioners to move forward with plans for a new county courthouse.
The current courthouse was built in 1927.
Cole expects a  site  to be picked for the proposed 35-million dollar facility within the next four months.
His goal is to put the issue on the November 2014 general election ballot.
Voters will decide on a local option one-cent sales tax to pay for construction.

Bob Cole, Santa Rosa County Commission Chairman; "The folks of Santa Rosa County have let me know they won't support us building anything elaborate or a Taj Mahal.  But to build a good, sound building that will take care of our judiciary for the next fifty to one hundred years is where we need to go."

Cole says the proposed new courthouse will be built in the Milton or Pace area.
