Student loans rate could see increase

A group of Senate democrats announce a plan to keep student loan rates from doubling next week.

If congress doesn't act, loans taken out after this coming Monday would see the interest rate hike.

Lawmakers in both parties generally agree they don't want that to happen, but they can't agree on a deal to stop it.  Today's proposal would extend the current interest rates for one year by cutting back on a tax break on tax-deferred retirement accounts.
