City to hold community input meeting on future of vacant properties

PENSACOLA -- Monday evening the City of Pensacola will host a community input meeting for residents to discuss the reuse of the former Blount and Kirksey school sites located on Pensacola's west side.

The meeting will be held on Monday, June 24 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Emmanuel Baptist Church, located at 701 West La Rua Street. Staff from the City's Housing Office as well as Mayor Ashton Hayward's office will be present  for the discussion.

Citizen input will be utilized as reuse plans are developed for the former Blount School property, which occupies the city block bounded by Chase, Gregory, C and D Streets, as well as the former Kirksey School site located nearby in the 500 block of North D Street.  Both sites are currently vacant.
