FAMU lifts hazing suspension
TALLAHASSEE -- Florida A&M University has lifted the suspension of its famed marching band. The school's "Marching 100" has been benched since the death of Robert Champion. He died in November 2011 after being pummeled by fellow band members in a hazing ritual. Several people were charged in the case.
Last month, FAMU hired a new band director and officials say the school has taken several steps to prevent hazing.
