County says public should have been notified sooner

ESCAMBIA COUNTY   --  Escambia County says the public should have been notified sooner about a sewage main break that spilled more than 70,000 gallons of raw sewage into Bayou Grande.

ECUA owns the sewage main that busted on Wednesday morning.

The health department put out an advisory yesterday afternoon, saying there is the potential* for high bacteria levels.

The county says, from now on In cases like these, it will not wait for other agencies and notify the public immediately.
