Besst testifies against Pinestraw in murder trial

ESCAMBIA COUNTY   --  Testimony continued today in the murder trial of Dwayne Pinestraw.
Pinestraw is accused of shooting into a Pensacola Village Apartment wounding one man and killing 22-month old, Ty'Quarious Moultrie.

Several witnesses took the stand including crime scene analyst, police even the property manager of Dwayne Pinestraw's old apartment.  But perhaps one of the most interesting testimonies came when Pinestraw's friend, Shaquill Besst testified against him.

With a mandatory life sentence dangling over his head, Dwayne Pinestraw listened to several witness testimonies, in day two of the trial where Pinestraw is accused of shooting Vincent Dennis, 23 and killing 22-month-old Ty'Quarious Moultrie.

Witnesses ranged from his old landlord, to experts in finger-printing.
They helped paint a picture of what happened the day of the shooting in July 2011 to the jurors.

Det. James Reese - Testimony
"Throughout the interview process was he changing his story?  His story changed some, yes ma'am"

One witness, Pinestraw knows well is Shaquill Besst, who he considered at one time a friend.
Besst who's currently in the Santa Rosa County Jail, recently pleaded no contest to a second degree murder charge, under a plea agreement.

His testimony was met with tough questions when inconsistencies in his story were discovered.

Shaquill Besst - Testimony
"At first did you tell them the whole story about what happen that day?  Not everything.  Why not?  Because I was trying to protect Pinestraw, Dwayne.  And were you also trying to protect yourself?  Yes"

Families of both Ty'Quarious Moultrie and Pinestraw were in court for the trial.

Family members of both Ty'Quarious Moultrie and Dwayne Pinestraw didn't want to speak to us on camera following today's trial.  More testimony is expected on Wednesday.
