NEW INFORMATION: Did White House reveal all they knew about attack
(ABC NEWS) -- New information is raising questions about whether the White House told all it knew about the attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya last
As ABC's Tahman Bradley explains
ABC News has obtained documents that show the Obama administration revised information it was given by intelligence officials about what happened.
Documents obtained by ABC News are raising questions about whether the White House knew the truth about the Benghazi terror attack.
The Obama administration originally said the assault was the result of a spontaneous protest. It said it was basing this information on talking points drafted by the intelligence community.
But an ABC News review of 12 different versions of the talking points show they were extensively edited before being distributed to Congress and to UN
Ambassador Susan Rice, who recited them on television. And that the State Department had extensive input in editing them.
In one draft, references to an Al Qaeda-affiliated group and references to CIA warnings before the attack WERE TAKEN OUT in one e-mail, then Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's spokeswoman Victoria Nuland raised objections, saying: they "could be abused by members (of Congress) to beat up the State Department for not paying attention to warnings, so why would we want to feed that"
House Speaker John Boehner
Four americans lost their lives in this terrorist attack, and congress is going to continue to investigate this issue using all the resources at our disposal.
Republicans have hammered the Obama administration for its handling of Benghazi. during last fall's presidential campaign, The Republican National
Committee approved this attack ad.
Although it never aired do to objections by Mitt Romney's campaign. now this ad, paid for by Karl Rove's super PAC American Crossroads, targeting Hillary Clinton is out today.
How could this happen? Why did she blame a video? And was she part of a coverup?
