Chemical spill cause six homes to be evacuated temporarily

ESCAMBIA COUNTY   --  Hazmat crews were called out this afternoon for a chemical spill.
Cleaning solution in a 55-gallon drum somehow fell off a truck driving down Massachusetts Avenue.
It leaked onto a dirt road by some railroad tracks about a block from Montclair Elementary School.
Six homes were evacuated for a short time.
And the roads were closed for about two hours but are now back open.

The Department of Environmental Protection is now investigating what caused the spill.
