Soles - 4 - Souls Program
GULF BREEZE - Some local high school students gave back to our community in a small way that made a really big difference.
Three Gulf Breeze High School students are making a difference with their big hearts and little shoes.
"One of the most important ways to give back is to actually help children."
Naomi Allen is one of three Gulf Breeze High School juniors who partnered with Escambia Recycles and Soles-4-Souls to do just that.
Over the last year, they've collected more than 1500 pairs of shoes for under privileged children in our community.
Today, with a team of volunteers, their soles work went onto the soles of students at Warrington Elementary.
"It's great, really wonderful. It makes you feel good about what you're doing."
270 first graders, kindergartners and pre-k students got a new pair of Skechers.
"They fit perfect."
"I love my new shoes so, so much!"
"I like my new shoes because they feel good."
As much as the kids liked their new shoes, they liked something else a little bit more."
"Somebody gave them to me."
The Soles-4-Souls program accepts new or used shoe donations and if you would like to donate, we have a link to a list of drop-off locations for you on our website, weartv.com, just click on Newslinks.
